Selvita Lodge, Fortuna

"The location was absolutely gorgeous and the owner and his family was above and beyond. They treated me like family. I had a handful of experience I wanted to have when I visited La Fortuna. I wanted to focus on seeing wildlife and visiting local sites. Adrian and his family made sure that everything I wanted to do was accomplished. He made it easy for me to book tours and helped me with transportation to and from different places. This was not a resort BUT in MANY ways it was significantly better. It truly felt like I was experiencing La Fortuna not just “visiting” as a tourist. Each morning Adrian and his wife would cook breakfast and I would eat it, outside while observing and listening to the birds. From the lodge you can see many hummingbirds, toucans and a variety of song birds. It was simply one of the best stays I’ve had as a solo traveler. They truly take care of me like family. Highly recommend and hopefully I can go back soon!!!! For reference these are the excursions I went on: sloth tour, waterfall hike, night frog tour, white water rafting, volcano hike, hanging bridges, chocolate tour, and I spent a day at the Arenal Observatory hiking and bird watching."

"This is one of the most welcoming places that I've visited in Costa Rica. The couple who runs the place are absolutely adorable, they make all possible effort to make your stay pleasant and comfortable. They even helped me to call around different tour operators to find the best possible price. The garden around the bungalows is beautiful and well maintained. 💯% recommended!"

"Simple but comfy, large and clean room with AC. Breakfast included served by the friendly hosts. Ample parking and quiet area a little outside the town center, Nice restaurant nearby. You might also get lucky to see the early morning clouds "Sombrero" over Volcano Arenal. Good value for the money."
