"Nice hotel with many bungalows. Some of them don’t offer much privacy because they are located right next to the paths where guests constantly walk by, but mine was in a good spot. The view of the volcano is absolutely gorgeous. Waking up to that view every day was truly beautiful. Just note that the hotel is located across the road from the volcano, so the volcano itself is on the other side of the road. The bungalow was very clean and comfortable, with a small kitchen, good shower, clean towels, and comfortable bedding. The breakfast buffet had a somewhat limited selection, but the food was always fresh and tasty. The coffee was excellent. Staff was friendly and welcoming. The hotel has one pool and a jacuzzi, which were nice, but since they are located right next to the road, the area can get noisy. Thankfully, it wasn’t an issue from the bungalow because mine was further down the property. The location is great and close to all the main activities. If you book tours with pickup transportation, they can easily pick you up from this hotel. It’s about a 10-minute drive to La Fortuna town, and there are coffee shops within a 15–20 minute walk."

"Basic and functional stay at Arenal Volcano Inn. The rooms could use a bit of updating, but everything worked well and there were no real issues during our visit. The standout was definitely the hotel food — top notch. Breakfast gets busy, so it’s worth going early, and I’d recommend making a reservation for dinner. The pasta dishes are particularly good and well worth trying. There’s also a lovely pool area and jacuzzi, which made for a really relaxing experience after a day out exploring"

"We stayed here 2 nights and enjoyed it for the most part. The location is great and many rooms have great views. The staff was very friendly and the food was pretty decent. The rooms were clean but we had an issue with a terrible smell of urine in our room (I believe 108 way up on the hill in the corner). We have notified them 2 times and they were very quick about coming and tried to clean it up. But because they were unsure themselves where it was coming from, they were only able to mask the smell with cleaning solutions and did not fully get rid of it. Unfortunately it was too much of a hassle to switch room in addition to none being available. Hope they can fix the issues before another guest has to smell that funk! Also he very careful as some walk ways can be very slippery when it is raining."
