La Fortuna Lodge

"We had a great 2 night stay at La Fortuna Lodge. The location was perfect in downtown but off the main street so it was quiet. We booked a king premium room with view of the volcano and it was perfect sitting on the balcony overlooking the rooftops and volcano. The room was very clean and they provided toiletries. The TV was smart but we never turned it on. Not flushing your TP is always a culture shock, but we understand the reason and oblige. Provided breakfast was typical Costa Rica with a couple Americanized options. Everything was delicious including the free flowing coffee. The front desk had towels we could borrow which was helpful when we went to the waterfall. Everyone we encountered was very nice. This place has good reviews because they were earned and are deserved. We would stay here again."

"The hotel is so lovely and fantastic value for money. The rooms are very clean and well equipped. There is a nice balcony, the bed is very comfortable and there is a/c as well as a ceiling fan. There also nice seating areas outside the room, like in the little garden, were we saw a humming bird, and in the lounge upstairs (open air, but protected from rain). The staff was super friendly and welcoming and also very helpful for deciding which activities to plan without having to organize them via them. The room was quiet and the view of the volcano from the balcony is fantastic. The location is amazing, everything yiu could possibly need is in walking distance. We fully enjoying our stay here and will definitely come back."

"This was my first time doing some international solo travel, needless to say I was quite nervous! I selected this place due to its proximity to the downtown area - hence very walkable. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed, especially given the affordable rates! Breakfast was delicious, the rooms were charming (more of a boutique feel, nothing fancy, but quite charming) and the customer service was phenomenal! The front desk employees were a pleasure to deal with. I felt safe the entire time, I cannot recommend it enough!"
